TTouch
The TTouch that Teaches
Tellington TTouch was developed by internationally recognized animal expert, Linda Tellington-Jones over 30 years ago. This method is based on cooperation and respect offering a positive approach to training, improved performance and health. Tellington TTouch is called The TTouch That Teaches because it enhances the ability to learn and presents solutions to common behavioral and physical problems while helping to establish a deeper rapport between humans and animals through increased understanding and more effective communication.

Watch Sandy Rakowitz using TTouch with a Cat during a demonstration at the Virginia Association for Veterinary Technicians:
With its roots in the Feldenkrais Method of Awareness Through Movement, TTOUCH techniques gently guide the animal or person through non-habitual exercises that can alter existing habitual patterns. Since posture affects behavior, many people note that unwanted behavior diminishes as the animal’s posture improves. TTOUCH teaches the animal, or person, to act and think rather than simply re-act.
TTOUCH blends well with many other modalities and training methods and works with any species of animal. TTouch is becoming widely used with people too! It is not
necessary to adopt the whole TTOUCH philosophy in order to make a difference to an animal or person. Learning just a few of the simple body TTouches and movements can help make a difference to your life.

Who Can Benefit?
Anyone who is involved with animals can benefit from learning TTOUCH techniques. Veterinarians, veterinary technicians, animal trainers, shelter staff, animal lovers, pet owners, breeders, dog and cat groomers have added TTouch tools to their skills already in place through private sessions, workshops, and learning from the many video’s and books on Tellington TTouch.
The Tellington TTouch is a teaching method for animals and people that incorporates body work and ground exercises where appropriate to help improve co-ordination, balance, and athletic ability while deepening further communication and understanding between the animal and its owner/caretaker.
“After we did our TTouch homework, we played a lil agility. Her confidence was amazing. Thank you for helping me w/ all of this. You Rock!!”
“WOW, I really see a difference w/ my dog after our TTouch lesson today. She is so much more relaxed. Usually she would have been pushy and demanding that I pay attention to her but not today. She went and laid down. She had her hind legs kicked out behind her—just relaxing.”
“I am getting as much out of the TTouch as my dog. This is helping me as well, thank you.”
